We needed the list indexer infrequently, so the inefficiency was not a sorun. If it had been, we could have provided some other implementation of IList, perhaps birli a collection of small-enough arrays, that would have been more efficiently indexable while also avoiding large objects.

Found this thread while I was looking for a solution to the exact mesele described in the original post. None of the answers met my situation entirely, however. Brody's answer was pretty close. Here is my situation and solution I found to it.

If someone passes you an Array or a List, your code will work fine if you check the flag every time and have a fallback... But really; who does that?

Then I looked in my view(mvc) and found that I actually needed the count method as I needed to use a for loop. So C# IList Kullanımı in my own application I under estimated what I actually needed how do you anticipate what someone else will need or not need.

If you use a concrete implementation of list, another implementation of the same list will not be supported by your code.

Encapsulation relies on telling clients bey little about the implementation of your class birli possible. If you return a concrete List, you sevimli't then change to some other better type without forcing all of your clients to re-compile/update.
